National Criminal Background Check
On October 1, 2014, new employees who will have “routine contact with a client or having access to such a client’s belongings or funds” in assisted living (as well as other long term care settings) must undergo a national criminal records check including finger prints.
Changes to National Background Check Program*
As of March 14, 2016, the RI Attorney General’s Office has changed the process for new hire National Criminal Background checks. We were notified that the AG’s office shut down the old process as of March 14, 2016.
In order to use the new system, a representative of each community or company is required to take a training session.
BCI System Training Schedule
As of March 29, 2016 online training on the new process for the National Criminal Background Check will be held every Monday and Tuesday 10:00 AM to 11:30. This training is for anyone who is a new user to the system or needs as refresher course.
