Rhode Island updates its quarantine and isolation guidance to align with CDC. For the most recent quarantine and isolation guidance for healthcare workers in hospitals and skilled nursing facilities who have been exposed to or who have tested positive for COVID-19, please see this chart.

  • March 11, 2022 - Regulation for Health Care Workers in Licensed Health Care Facilities for Protection Against COVID-19
RIDOH has promulgated emergency regulation (216-RICR-20-15-9) that require health care workers in licensed health care facilities to either be up to date with a SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccine or wear an N95 mask when the prevalence rate in the State is greater than or equal to fifty (50 cases) per one hundred thousand (100,000) people per week.
  • January 10, 2022 - New Visitation Regulations in Assisted Living and Nursing Homes

Effective January 10, RIDOH has promulgated the emergency regulation, Long-Term Care Facility COVID-19 Procedures (216-RICR-40-10-27) These new regulations require visitors at nursing homes and assisted living facilities to either be vaccinated or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test. This rule is set to be in effect until May 10, 2022.
