National Criminal Background CheckOn October 1, 2014, new employees who will have “routine contact with a client or having access to such a client’s belongings or funds” in assisted living (as well as other long term care settings) must undergo a national criminal records check, including finger prints Notice: Changes to National Background Check Program*Effective March 14, 2016, all Long Term Care Applicants seeking employment at one of the following Long Term Care Program Types: Adult Day Care Program, Assisted Living Residence, Home Care Provider, Home Nursing Care Provider, Hospice, LTC Hospital- (Eleanor Slater Hospital), Nursing Facility, Nursing Service Agency MUST be registered by the place of potential employment and present our office with the letter of eligibility with the registration number in order to be fingerprinted for the national background check.
