PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
RIALA’s Behavioral Health Webinar Series is a five-part virtual education program designed to provide assisted living professionals with practical knowledge and strategies for recognizing and responding to complex behavioral health needs. The series will explore mental health diagnoses and behaviors, hoarding, challenging behaviors associated with dementia, psychiatric medications and potential side effects, and substance use disorders and addictions.
Participants will also gain a better understanding of how mental illness, dementia, medications, behaviors, and individual circumstances can intersect and affect residents differently. The program will emphasize effective assessment, person-centered care planning, appropriate staff responses, and strategies that support resident safety, dignity, satisfaction, and quality of life.
RIALA highly recommends this series for Executive Directors, Directors of Nursing, RNs, LPNs, department leaders, and frontline staff working in assisted living communities.
The Substance Use Disorders and Addictions Webinar on December 10 is approved for both Assisted Living Administrator and Nursing continuing education credit.
